Perseverance, secret of all triumphs.    -Victor Hugo

I was born in Southfield, Michigan and grew up moving around America. My life is centered on leading an active lifestyle ever since the day I could walk. My parents both went to college on athletic scholarships, I grew up playing sports, and my best childhood memories come from being in the great outdoors with my family and friends

By the time I was 10, I had already lived in 3 different countries. Growing up in Mexico, Brazil and the United States gave me the privilege of learning about different cultures. As opposed to most people who learned their second and third languages in school, I learned Spanish, Portuguese, and English by both immersing myself in the culture and school.

I grew up with severe hearing loss and was near deaf until I got cochlear implants. This life experience has made me incredibly tough mentally and taught me early on in life the lesson that nothing in life comes easy and I would need to work hard to succeed.

My experience as a former boxing coach and being the president of the UT Dallas Running Club have given me the opportunity to get experience on leadership, marketing, and creativity skills since I not only had to train people but also keep them motivated enough to have them come back for more training.

The Bionic Athlete

I teamed up with Advanced Bionics to start a project and campaign called The Bionic Athlete to promote fitness, health, and an active lifestyle among the deaf and hard of hearing community. I documented most of my experiences and adventures on a website as well as on my Instagram page.

This is the main reason I became a Bionic Ear Aassociation (BEA) Mentor. Being a BEA Mentor has me working with other kids, adults, and families who are hard of hearing and are interested in knowing more about cochlear implants.
